Course content
1. Listening comprehension as a receptive speech skill - learning objectives, listening process 2. - 3. Psycholinguistic foundations and didactic principles for listening comprehension, learning strategies 4. Typology of listening exercises, analysis of textbooks 5. Speaking as a productive speech skill - communicative competence, models of speech production 6. - 7. Communication situations and their implementation in teaching, sofrolinguistics, typology of exercises and textbook analysis 8. Criteria for the evaluation of speaking 9. Reading comprehension as a receptive speech skill - teaching objectives, reading process 10. - 12. Types of reading, didactic principles for reading comprehension, learning strategies 13. Working with text 14. Final evaluation of teaching

Learning outcomes
German Didactics 2 builds on Introduction to Professional Practice III and IV and on German Didactics 1. The focus this semester is on practicing the speech skills of listening comprehension, speaking and spoken interaction, and reading comprehension. Students will learn appropriate strategies for practicing the above speech skills, and they will learn to select appropriate listening and reading comprehension texts and work with them in the classroom.
After completing this course, students understand the process of communication in its complexity, are able to select appropriate texts and didacticise them in accordance with the age and language skills of the pupils, and create opportunities for the development of listening comprehension and reading literacy. They can motivate pupils to produce their own speech and evaluate pupils' speech.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Seminar work, Self-reflection

Active participation in seminars, continuous preparation of assignments, preparation of seminar papers. The comprehensive examination verifies the knowledge acquired by completing the disciplines Introduction to Professional Practice III and IV and Didactics 1 and 2. The knowledge is tested in German.
