Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop communication skills in German at level B1 + according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The focus is on the spoken language, but the written language will also be cultivated during the seminar. The seminars use the modern textbook PERLMANN-BALME, Michaela and Susanne SCHWALB: Sicher! German as a foreign language. B1 + level. Ismaning: Hueber Verlag, 2012. On the one hand, vocabulary is developed and on the other hand the ability to react logically and quickly to everyday situations is practiced. Students will also become familiar with problematic grammatical or spelling phenomena and will be guided to their correct use not only in discussions or interviews, but also in writing. Understanding written text or listening exercises is also an essential component. As part of their homework, the students read two books, among others, Bitterschokolade (Mirjam Pressler) and Karambolage (Jürgen Banscherus). The required knowledge corresponds to CEFR level B1 in all language skills (productive and receptive) and language resources. Language Exercises 1 and 2 work with the same textbook and lessons. However, the lessons are divided according to whether they are given by a native speaker or a Czech teacher so that the students can benefit as much as possible. The final written exam and the oral exam are designed and conducted jointly by both teachers. The seminars are held in German.
Students are able to communicate orally and in writing on the topics covered according to the CEFR with a rich vocabulary and a good knowledge of grammar.
