Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop communication skills in German at level B1 + according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The focus is on the spoken language, but the written language will also be cultivated during the seminar. The seminars use the modern textbook PERLMANN-BALME, Michaela and Susanne SCHWALB: Sicher! German as a foreign language. B1 + level. Ismaning: Hueber Verlag, 2012. On the one hand, vocabulary is developed and on the other hand the ability to react logically and quickly to everyday situations is practiced. Students will also become familiar with problematic grammatical or spelling phenomena and will be guided to their correct use not only in discussions or interviews, but also in writing. Understanding written text or listening exercises is also an essential component. As part of their homework, the students read two books, Falsch gedacht (Sigurd Pruetz) and Und wenn schon! (Karen-Susan Fessel). The required knowledge corresponds to CEFR level B1 in all language skills (productive and receptive) and language resources. Language Exercises 3 and 4 work with the same textbook and lessons. However, the lessons are taught by two different teachers, so that the students can benefit as much as possible. The final written exam and the oral exam are designed and conducted jointly by both teachers. The seminars are held in German.
Students are able to communicate orally and in writing on the topics covered according to the CEFR with a rich vocabulary and a good knowledge of grammar.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Combined exam

Written test of language skills and language resources from the examined curriculum; the key to achieving the level required by the CEFR for languages is continuous preparation for teaching in the form of self-study according to the teacher's task; active participation in the seminar, reading the prescribed books. If the student reaches the B2 level according to the CEFR in the entrance test for the subject Jazyková cvičení NŠ 1 , he/she does not have to participate in direct teaching. He/she can meet the prescribed requirements of the discipline at a distance. The knowledge review is conducted in German language.
