Learning outcomes
German as a foreign language teachers need a reliable orientation in the entire grammar system, knowledge of the rules, understanding of their role in the grammar system and their interrelationships. The aim of the course is to provide detailed theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of German verbal inflection, namely the topics listed below. An important goal of the course is also to provide students with a contrastive comparison of the grammar system of Czech and German. Lectures and seminars are held in German.
Upon completion of the course, students will have sufficient orientation in the discussed areas of verbal inflection in contemporary German (voice of the verb and deagentivity, subjunctive and conditionality, strong connection of the verb with the preposition, particularities of the use of infinitives and participles and their constructions). Due to the above-mentioned emphasis on the perception of the grammar subsystem as a whole and thanks to the contrastive view of Czech and German, students can identify potential critical issues in German as a foreign language teaching in the discussed area of verbal inflection, which enables them to convey these to students in a correct and didactically sound manner.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of German at the level B1.
