Learning outcomes
|
German as a foreign language teachers need a reliable orientation in the entire grammar system, knowledge of the rules, understanding of their role in the grammar system and their interrelationships. The aim of the course is to provide detailed theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of German nominal inflection and in the area of important non-inflecting word types. An important goal of the course is also to provide students with a contrastive comparison of the grammar system of Czech and German. Lectures and seminars are held in German.
Upon completion of the course, students will have sufficient orientation in the discussed areas of nominal inflection in contemporary German (declination of nouns, plural formation, inherent categories of the genre noun, for Czechs learning German the very difficult question of determination, declination and gradation of adjectives, numerals, adverbs and prepositions). Due to the above-mentioned emphasis on the perception of the grammar subsystem as a whole and thanks to the contrastive view of Czech and German, students can identify potential critical issues in German as a foreign language teaching in the area of nominal inflection and prepositions, which enables them to convey these to students in a correct and didactically sound manner.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of German language at the level B1+.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Test
Written tests (successful completion of two of the three ongoing tests; in case of failure, completion of the semester test - there are three attempts here); continuous preparation for teaching in the form of self-study of the assigned compulsory and recommended literature; active participation in the seminar. The knowledge review is conducted in German language.
