Course content
|
The Experiential Pedagogy course is an intensive 4-day programme that combines various forms of activities focusing on different levels of experiencing and learning. The programme is structured according to dramaturgical principles and combines different types of activities: Physical activities, outdoor games and challenges: Physical activities developing teamwork, physical fitness, courage and personal endurance. Intellectual activities Projects and Simulations: Analytical and critical thinking through complex problem solving, simulation of real-life situations and discussions. Workshops and seminars: Theoretical foundations of experiential pedagogy, reflective activities and sharing of experiences. Social activities Group games and exercises: Activities aimed at developing social skills, communication, empathy and teamwork. Role-playing and dramatisation: Simulation of social situations and interactions, training in conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Creative activities Art and craft projects: Fostering creativity and innovative thinking through art and craft activities. Creative writing and storytelling: Developing personal expression, reflecting on experiences and sharing stories. Contemplative activities Meditation and mindfulness: techniques for calming the mind, increasing concentration and developing inner peace. Reflective exercises: individual and group reflection on lived experiences, reflection on personal growth and self-reflection. Pedagogical approaches and methodology Dramaturgical principles: the program is carefully structured to promote optimal experience and learning through gradation of activities, balance of exertion and rest, and reflection. Flow principles: activities are designed to achieve a state of flow where participants are fully immersed in the activity and experience maximum engagement and enjoyment of learning. Experiential Learning Cycles: Using Kolb's model of experiential learning, which includes concrete experience, reflection, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. The course is delivered in the form of a 4-day field trip. The course dates are listed in the course schedule.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this subject is to acquaint students with theoretical backgrounds of experiential pedagogy and with the application of experiential pedagogy in the practice of teachers, through personal experience. The course will be taught together with KPEG / IPPE (The course is implemented in the form of a four-day intensive exit course). It is an internationalization course designed for Erasmus students. It can be taught in English / Czech - preferably in English.
The student will gain practical (participatory) experience with the experiential course and will be introduced to the theoretical foundations of experiential pedagogy. The student is oriented in the possibilities of using experiential methods in the teacher's practice.

Prerequisites
|
Motivation and willingness to learn: Participants should be open to new experiences, willing to take on new roles and actively participate in all parts of the course. Personal and social maturity: Participants should be able to work independently and in a team, show responsibility and the ability to reflect on their own experiences. Physical fitness: The course will include physical activities in nature. Participants should be physically prepared for moderate physical challenges. Basic knowledge of experiential pedagogy: Previous knowledge or experience with experiential pedagogy methods is a plus, but NOT NECESSARY. Safety and rules: Participants will be familiar with the basic safety rules on the course before the course. Equipment: Participants should have adequate personal equipment for a stay in nature (e.g. suitable clothes, shoes, sleeping bag, mat, headlamp, etc.).

Questionnaire, Self-reflection, Interim evaluation
Active and full participation in the course. Submission of the feedback questionnaire. The costs associated with accommodation and meals are covered by the students (deposit required before course).
