Course content
anatomy of the auditory apparatus physiology of hearing selected types of hearing impairment (causes, symptomatology) consequences of the HI in education and in the normal life of the hearing impaired medical diagnostics of hearing impairment SEN diagnostics of hearing impairment pedagogical diagnostics of hearing impairment conditions (technical, special educational, social) educating the hearing impaired - approaches and methods

Learning outcomes
To acquaint students: - with the anatomy of the auditory apparatus and hearing physiology - with selected types of hearing impairment (causes, symptomatology) and their consequences in education and in the normal life of the hearing impaired - with the diagnostics of hearing impairment (medical, special needs educational, pedagogical) - with conditions (technical, special educational, social) and ways of educating the hearing impaired.
Students will gain insight into the education and development of people with hearing impairment. Students will be able to propose framework measures / solutions related to the education of people with HI.
Prerequisites
Fluent oral and written communication skills in English Basic knowledge of biology, orientation in basic knowledge of psychology and pedagogy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Seminar work

Individual preparation from the recommended sources (including universtiy textbooks), participation in lessons (discussion etc.), participation in organized visits in the field, preparation of an acceptable seminar work.
