Course content
Main topics of the course: 1. Communication and language, sciences studying language expression 2. Specifics of verbal communication 3. The role of language in society and culture 4. The relationship between language, behavior and psychological processes 5. Methods of language processing and analysis 6. Contemporary psychological research on verbal communication 7. Application of methods of psychological analysis of verbal communication

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the psychological aspects of verbal communication and its research. The course is divided into (1) a theoretical part, in which students become familiar with the theory of communication, language and basic linguistic concepts, but also with the relationships between language and psychological processes and related research, and (2) a practical part, in which work is with specific methods of verbal communication analysis, both on a qualitative and quantitative level. Attention is also paid to modern computational approaches to text analysis and the cross-language level of analysis.
