Course content
1. The emergence of TK as a social phenomenon, TK in Oriental despotics and early civilizations. 2. TK in ancient Greece. 3. TK in ancient Greece, TK in ancient Rome. 4. TK in the Middle Ages TK in the period of humanism and the Renaissance, philanthropy. 5. The beginnings and evolution of the English system of sport and games. 6. The German Turner system, the Swedish medical gym system, the French natural method. 7. The emergence and evolution of the international sports and Olympic movement and their evolution into World War I. 8. The emergence and development of TK in our territory, the emergence of the falcon system. 9. The emergence and development of our sport, the emergence and development of other physical and tourism organisations. 10. Development of the TK system in interwar Czechoslovakia. 11. The evolution of TK on our territory from World War II to the present day. 12. The development of the international sports and Olympic movement in the interwar period. 13. The evolution of the international sports and Olympic movement from World War II to the present day. 14. Current issues of current TVS in the world.

Learning outcomes
Forms summary in ancient era and the Middle Age ,in the modern period, world history of physical education in 19th and 20th centuries, Czech history in 19th century and at the beginning of 20th century, Czechoslovak history of physical education 1918 - 1938, during occupation, from 1945 to 1992, from 1993 to presents.
The graduate of the course will acquire comprehensive knowledge of the world and Czech history of physical education and sport from antiquity to the present.

Basic knowledge from the field of world and Czech history

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Student performance assessment

The exam takes the form of a written test. Individual tests are composed of 12-18 sub-questions covering the entire spectrum of the discussed topic. The tests are evaluated by a point system. The total number of possible points obtained is in the interval of 41-44 points. To evaluate with a grade of good, it is necessary to get above 51% of possible points. To evaluate with a mark of very good and excellent, it is always necessary to obtain a correspondingly higher number of points. During the semester, the lectures are complemented by a continuous study of professional texts, especially items 1, 2 and 3 of the compulsory
