Course content
1. - 2. Repetition of the studied material from the subject Lexicology I. 3. - 5. Presentation of the mentioned network of relations in lexicographic practice - specific examples of work with basic translation dictionaries. 6. - 8. Basic word-formation procedures in Russian and Czech vocabulary - derivation of prefix, suffix, postfixal, combined, word composition, borrowing - direct and kalky. Word formation analysis and its tasks, derivation stem, derived. 9. - 10. The most frequent word-formation procedures of Czech vocabulary in comparison with Russian. Word formation analysis and its goals - examples of word formation analysis. 11. - 12. Lexicographic issues - types of dictionaries, their characteristics and basic data about them. Construction of a dictionary entry. Encyclopedic and interpretive dictionaries. Working with dictionaries - practical examples. 13. - 14. Summary of the issue, exam.

Learning outcomes
Formal and semantic lexicology and her mastery in confrontation with Czech. Word meanings - synonymy, homonymy, paronymy, antonymy and so on. Sorts of dictionaries.
The graduates are able to take their bearings with basic Russian word stock, they can actively create and call individual forms in the system (antonyms, synonyms, paronyms, homonyms etc.) in Russian. They master as well orientation in basic dictionaries, as well as word`s analysis, which is a base for correct performance of a text.
Prerequisites
Advanced level in knowledge Russian morphology and phonetics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills, Interview, Test, Interim evaluation

Regular participation and active work in seminars, mastering the subject matter. Elementary orientation in the vocabulary of Russian in the context of the mother tongue. Russian morphology. Work with dictionaries.
