Course content
1. Brief characteristics of the origin and development of the Russian language. Cyrillic. Introductory listening exercises. 2. Russian alphabet compared to Czech. Listening exercises. Word accent in Russian. 3. Russian alphabet and basic pronunciation rules; topic: Presentation - Part 1. 4. Russian alphabet and basic pronunciation rules; topic: Presentation - Part 2. 5. Russian alphabet, pronunciation; topic: Introduction - Part 1. 6. Russian alphabet, pronunciation; topic: Introduction - Part 2. 7. Russian alphabet, pronunciation; topic: Birthday invitation. 8. Russian alphabet, pronunciation; topic: Names of languages, states and nationalities. 9. Summary, repetition; practicing the skills of reading a Russian text with correct pronunciation. 10. Intonation of declarative sentences. Cardinal numbers. Topic: Arrangement of an appointment. Treat. 11. Intonation of interrogative sentences with the interrogative word. Topic: My residence. 12. Intonation of interrogative sentences without the interrogative word. Topic: Do you speak Russian or English? 13. Transliteration of foreign names by Cyrillic and Russian names in Latin alphabet. Repetition. 14. Credit test.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to learn to read and write in the Russian alphabet, understand simple oral and written expression in Russian, to master basic vocabulary needed to understanding in chosen common communication situations.
The students will be able to read and write by Russian alphabet, will learn a standard intelligible pronunciation, to understand in chosen communication situations.
Prerequisites
The students do not have to pass any Russian language course, education is intended for beginners.

Analysis of student's language skills, Combined exam, Interim evaluation

Regular attendance and active participation in seminars, successfully written credit test.
