Course content
1. - 2. Subject and basic terms of lexicology. meaning, concept and meaning, lexical and grammatical meaning 3. - 4. Meaning, concept and meaning, lexical and grammatical meaning. 5 . - 6. Semantic analysis of the meaning - semems, word-forming and lexical meaning - relationships, types of lexical meanings. 7. - 8. Morphematic analysis of words as mean of deepening of vocabulary knowledge - analysis. 9. - 10. Issue of relationships in the vocabulary. Network of basic relationships - Czech-Russian comparison: synonymy, antonymy, homonymy - concrete examples. 11. - 12. Network of basic relationships - Czech-Russian comparison: paronymy, hyponymy, kohyponymy, enantiosemy - concrete examples. 13. - 14. Summary of issues, space for questions and evaluation. Credit.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Activating (simulations, games, drama), Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies)
Learning outcomes
Formal and semantic lexicology and her mastery in confrontation with Czech. Word meanings - synonymy, homonymy, paronymy, antonymy and so on. Sorts of dictionaries.
The graduates are able to take their bearings with basic Russian word stock, they can actively create and call individual forms in the system (antonyms, synonyms, paronyms, homonyms etc.) in Russian. They master as well orientation in basic dictionaries, as well as word`s analysis, which is a base for correct performance of a text.
Prerequisites
Advanced level in knowledge Russian morphology and phonetics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills, Interview, Test, Interim evaluation

Regular participation and active work in seminars, mastering the subject matter. Elementary orientation in the vocabulary of Russian in the context of the mother tongue. Russian morphology. Work with dictionaries.
