Prominent foreign and Czech geographers and their contribution to geography and didactics of geography Week 3: Key skills of a geography teacher, self-reflection practices (methodology 3A, etc.). Teaching geography as a two-way process: the teacher-student relationship. Motivation in teaching geography. Praise and criticism. Discipline and problem solving. Week 4: Development and use of various resources and aids, modern information technologies for teaching geography. Data resources for teaching geography, map resources, videos and geography portals. Week 5: Artistic expression in the teaching of geography and its functions: sketches, diagrams and pictures and their correct use in the teaching of geography. Digital technology or VR and AR in practical teaching of geography. StoryMaps, MathCityMap and other portals useful in teaching geography. Within the subject Didactics of Geography I, the teaching will be aimed at familiarizing the student with specific methods and organizational forms of teaching geography. Students will master the methods of applied research in the didactics of geography. They will deepen the key skills of the teacher so far. Above all, the student will learn to plan, prepare and conduct geography lessons. It will mainly focus on the evaluation of students' knowledge and skills in geography, the listener will get to know the methods of their correct evaluation and classification. Attention will also be paid to work with talented pupils, for example through geographical competitions. The students acquire the ability of detailed didactic analysis of geography curriculum, didactic principles and their application in practical geography teaching. They will learn the basics of creating a geographic curriculum of selected thematic units.
