            | The course provides an introduction to urban ecology using established urban ecology concepts and principles adapted from natural-area ecology. Both abiotic and biotic environment in urban landscape will be examined and emphasis is placed on various urban habitats, wildlefe, plants and vegetation, biodiverzity conservation and socioeconomic and aesthetic conflicts, in urban planning. Several examples of projects realized across the world in urban landcape enrich the presentation. Students try to prepare their own project focused on biodiversity enhancement in urban area. No previous courses are required.
