Course content |
Content of lectures: Lectures are focused on the functional morphology of vegetative growth of plants. The history of understanding of growth forms and the most important classifications and growth-form systems are introduced. The stress is put on recent knowledge about the relationship between form and function in plant architecture and modelling of clonal growth. Consequences of plant architecture for ecology of plant communities and populations are discussed. Content of practices: Students have a possibility to learn selected aspects of the plant architecture on living plants during a two-day field course.
