Course content
|
4 day of mycological field trips + afternoon of identification using microscopic characters. Methods of collections, preparing specimens and identification of fungi. Field trips will take place on 13 March, 27 March, 10 April, 24 April, 8 May, and 22 May 2025 a maximum of one field trip may be canceled due to severe drought, snow, or frost.

Learning outcomes
|
The course objectives is to learn how to find and identify fungi forming fruit bodies in spring and early summer and know about their ecology. Methods of field research, preparing specimens and identification based on microscopic characters of fungal fruit bodies will be presented.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Combined exam
The student must attend at least four field trips, prepare at least one herbarium specimen, and assist with entering records into the database. Student will also take part in preparing a presentation of interesting findings from one selected excursion and compiles an overview of photos of ten species he/she newly learned during the excursions.
