Course content |
Content of practicals: The field course takes place in Norway see coast (Vevang), t0 days in September. Methods of parasitological examination of marine ivertebrates and vetrtebrates (fish) will ne introduced. Methods of sampling (scuba diving, snorcheling, fishing, plancton filtration) will be demonstrated. Parasitological dissections will take place in temporal laboratory. Parasites will be determined, documented and fixed. Examples of parasites that will be very probably demonstrated: microsporidia (Spraguea lophii in angler monkfish), myxozoa (Gadimyxa in cods and polychaets of the genus Spirorbis), ciliates(Trichodina in gills), flukes (Opecoelidae, Sanguinicolidae, Hemiuridae, Heterophyidae in fish, molluscs and crustaceans), tapeworms (Diplocotyle, Echeneibothrium, Grillotia, Pseudanthobothrium), roundworms (Anisakis complex), crustaceans (Peltogaster in hermit crabs) Clavella on finns)
