    | Content of lectures: Characteristics of Amniot, phylogeny of individual classes, acquaintance with the fauna of the Palaearctic and other zoogeographical areas. Reptiles - biology, current view on phylogeny, relationships with birds and mammals, distribution. Birds - biology, current view on phylogeny, distribution. Mammals - biology, current view on phylogeny, distribution.    Exercise content: Follows up on the lecture, practical acquaintance with representatives of individual classes, short excursions into nature, determination of living and preserved material, final overview in the museum and zoo.

            | Learning outcomes | 
        
            | Course follows the basic Vertebrate Zoology. Students will meet new views on mophology, taxonomy, evolution, ecology and behaviour. Includes distribution of evolutionary and economically important taxa; details are given for Czech fauna and endangered groups and species. Lecture is contributed by video recordings and practicals of functional, developmental ana comparative anatomy; cytological methods in taxonomy, faunistics, ecological and behavioural methods. Includes visit to the collections of National Museum and Zoogarden Prague

 Students will beexamined by an oral exam. At the end of practicals will be students examined in identification of European higher Vertebrates (at least 70 % of correct answers is needed to pass the course)
