Course content
|
The course focuses on further developing the skills acquired in OJZ 310. Students deepen their skills in academic language. Particular attention is paid to connecting expressions, textual cohesion and coherence, verbs expressing opinion and communication, and the use of articles. An integral part of the course is also an emphasis on correct pronunciation. Classes are conducted through individual, pair, and group work.

Learning outcomes
|
Increasing language competencies and communication skills of students.
The course aims to further expand and reinforce the vocabulary and grammar used in the context of general academic language. Students will deepen their understanding of the conventions and nuances of academic English and improve their communication skills in an academic setting. This course represents the "next step" toward passing the TOEFL exam.

|
Analysis of student's language skills, Didactic test, Test, Self-reflection, Interim evaluation
Credit is awarded for Regular attendance (3 allowed absences) Active work in class Completion of ongoing written assignments (1-2/semester) Mastery of individual vocabulary - 210 academic words in the Quizlet app. Minimum final test grade of 70%
