Learning outcomes
Mastering basic laboratory procedures and simple chemical calculations.
Students acquire skills in the very basic laboratory techniques used in chemical laboratory such as weighing, filtration, centrifugation, preparing solutions of precise concentrations, acid-base titration with indicator; students also learn to measure pH with a pH meter and to use pipettes with disposable tips. Students learn to prepare final reports on experimental results of selected laboratory experiments.
Prerequisites
An introductory course without any requirements on previous laboratory experience.
Assessment methods and criteria
Test, Development of laboratory protocols
To pass the course, all laboratory experiments must be performed, reports of selected experiments must be completed, 50 % score in the final test is required.
