Course content
National Geographic Life Upper-Intermediate, selected topics from units 1- 6 Grammar: present tenses review the passive past simple and present perfect simple past simple and past continuous past perfect simple and past perfect continuous future forms review future continuous and future perfect simple determiners verb patterns Vocabulary: phrasal verbs asking for and offering technical help useful devices reaching decisions features of a city redevelopment getting around wordbuilding: forming adjectives, synonyms, prefixes, suffixes, compound nouns, phrasal verbs

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Projection, Activating (simulations, games, drama), E-learning

Learning outcomes
Cultivation of intermediate and upper-intermediate general and professional English for the purposes of future employment.
Strengthening of knowledge on level B2 and continuation to level C1. Teaching involves wider vocabulary and skills necessary for the profession or further scientific career in the study field and specialization.
Prerequisites
English language knowledge on the B1 to B2 level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Systematic student observation, Combined exam, Test, Seminar work

Free attendance Pass the final written test in the last week before the EP to 70 points out of 100 (1 correction term) Prepare a presentation on your selected topic (15 min) with a spoken commentary (do not read) and some hints for discussion (of interest to the topic, problem, question etc.) Topics for the presentation shall be discussed with the lecturer.
