Learning outcomes |
The aim of the course is to describe the functioning of the endocrine system of lower aquatic vertebrates and invertebrates, various mechanisms of action of major groups of endocrine disruptors, consequences of disruption and its manifestations. Transgeneration transfer and epigenetics of these disorders will be mentioned. Methods for monitoring the effect of endocrine disruptors on aquatic organisms (in vitro and in vivo assays, gene expression analysis) will also be described. The course will include a short lab-practice, where students will be acquainted with selected methods.
