Course content
- Distinguishing between individual and social ethics, traditional areas and topics of social ethics - The nature of Christian social ethics, the social doctrine of the Church and Catholic social thought, the distinction of these concepts - Distinction between individual / person and persons / communities - Study of the meaning of friendship, love, family, work, politics of Christian social ethics - Friendship, love and family in Aristotle and Maritain - Work and workers in the concept of John XXIII and Arendt - Political community and political identity in the conception of Thomas Aquinas and MacIntyre

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to deepen topics in the field of family, work and politics through the historical perspective of social ethics, especially Christian. The title of the course is in particular: "Fundamentals of human society: friendly community, working community, political community", In the course we will read texts (here in alphabetical order) by: Hannah Arendt (1906-1975), Aristotle (384-322 BC), Jacques Maritain (1882-1973), Alasdair MacIntyre (1929-), Pope John XXIII (1881- 1963), Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274), Karol Wojtyla (1920-2005).

Written examination, Student performance assessment

Self-study control consists in oral examination of knowledge in the range of assigned compulsory literature on individual topics, KS teaching takes place in the form of one collective consultation per semester, participation is not mandatory, the course can be completed by self-study.
