Course content
Content: - Introduction to social policy - basic definition of the field, history, functions, tools of social policy - The relationship of social policy to other disciplines (social work, ethics, solidarity, economics, etc.) - Social security pillars - assistance - Social security pillars - insurance - Social security pillars - support - Social policy in the context of the European Union - The global framework for European social policy - Social solidarity - International documents related to social policy

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students comprehensively to a broad area of social policy and social work. Students will gain information about social policy, both in the Czech Republic and in the context of the European Union. After completing the course, they can reflect on the connections between social work in relation to socio-political systems.
The student knows the theoretical basis of social policy in the Czech Republic and the EU and can transfer this knowledge for use in the practice of social work. Understands the links between social policy and social work.
Prerequisites
The course does not presuppose any input knowledge beyond the requirements of the admission procedure.

Oral examination
