Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to familiarize students with the basic issues of qualitative research procedure. Attention will be focused on both theoretical and practical aspects. Short lectures introducing the basic research framework will be complemented by collective discussion of selected steps, seminar readings of case studies and reflection on own research experiences. Students will acquire knowledge of qualitative research design and implementation. They will gain skills in how to conduct observations, semi-structured interviews, focus groups and qualitative text analysis. In addition, they will learn how to work in groups. Active participation in discussions and serious engagement in research between classes is essential.
