Course content
|
The themes and concrete texts are chosen with regard to professional orientation and interests of the students, possible items: - Relations of religions and politics in the world religions, - Christianity and freedom, democracy, human rights, - Christianity and politics in the historical horizon and in the present, - Christian oriented political parties in the past and in the present, - Ideological polarization in context of Catholic social thought, - Interpretative conflicts in the area of the Social Doctrine of the Church, - American political Catholicism, Catholic neoconservatism, - The work of Michael Novak, - Christian socialism, the theology of liberation, - Other social-oriented streams (the feminist theology, the Palestinian theology of liberation, the black theology), - Far-right political extremism connected with the Christianity

Learning outcomes
|
The seminar is thematically connected with the lectures Social Ethics I. and Social Ethics II. It is based on the work with the concrete texts from the area - the students will extend and deepen their reflection of the social-ethical themes with the aid of short reports and subsequent organized discussions.
Based on the work with the concrete texts the student deeper reflects themes and questions in the area of social ethics.
