Course content
The value of the family and its importance to society. - Issues of families with a member with mental illness. - Psychology of the family.- Law for the protection and promotion of the interests of the family.- Boundaries of the social worker in working with the family. Family event - Autism as a gift, volunteers in families as caring helpers. The role of the social worker in the hospital with the family.- Issues for children and families in educational problems. Marriage, family in the context of religion in general and Christianity in particular.- Violence in the family.- Social work with the family in eating disorder problems. Probation and mediation worker in the family.- Social work with Roma families .- Social work with families in divorce.- Self-study /online. Child at risk - self-study /online course. - All materials for studying the course are published in Moodle.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the specialization is to present students with current topics related to social work with families. The subject is focused on the theoretical and practical knowledge, but also on the development of specific skills needed for dealing and working with families. The course will be participated by several teachers from the JU TF as well as practitioners who have extensive experience in direct work with families. The aim of the course is to introduce the family from different perspectives, to describe the work of the social worker, and to highlight the variety of aspects that can affect the family.
The student understands the concept of the method of working with the family and understands the meaning and importance of the theoretical concepts of SP. The student can prepare for a family work intervention and social functioning. The student can reflect on the needs of the family. The student is aware of the aspects that may influence the family. The student can identify when social work is working with a family and when it is working with an individual.
Prerequisites
Before entering the course, the student should be able to define the field of social work, its objectives, basic concepts of social work such as social functioning, interaction, social intervention, etc. The prerequisite course is Social Work with Families.
