Course content
- Introduction into the political science, history and branches of the political science, - Political philosophy and political ideologies - classifications, spectrums, left x right, - Liberalism as metaideology and its forms (classical liberalism, social liberalism, neoliberalism), - Conservatism (traditional conservatism, New Right, neoconservatism, convergency of ideologies), - Socialism and its forms (communism, anarchism, New Labour, the 21. century socialism etc.), - Feminism, environmentalism (context, discussion, influence), far-right and far--left extremist scene in the Czech Republic and abroad, - Religious fundamentalism, politics and religion relations, S. P. Huntington and his clash of civilizations thesis, - International relations (realism and idealism), international organisations (IGOs, INGOs), - Globalization (forms, perspectives, discussion, critique, actors), problems of economic developement, problem of peace and war, - The European integration (history, enlargement, perspectives, forms of integration), - Democratic political system, political systems in comparation, parties and party systems abroad, - Political system of the Czech Republic, constitutional system, party system (ideologies, history, aggregation of interests, perspectives)

Learning outcomes
The goal of this course is to introduce students generally into the area of political science and its branches - into the area of political philosophy and political ideologies, with a view to particular political streams and ideological orientation in history and today, then into the area of international relations with a view to problems of theory of international relations, activity of IGOs a INGOs, the European integration, globalization, peace, war and then into the area of political system analysis with a view to political and party system of the Czech Republic.
The student has a general overview of the topics of political science and its branches - especially in the area of political ideologies, when he/she proves to characterize and distinguish classical (liberalism, conservatism, socialism) and contemporary ideological and political orientation (neoliberalism, neoconservatism, social liberalism, feminism, environmentalism, religious fundamentalism etc.), then in the area of theory and trends of the international relations and of the global world developement and then in the area of problems of political and party system of the Czech Republic.

Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills

Knowledge, reflection and application of the content of lectures, study texts for the lectures and another recommended texts of the literature.
