1. Analytical philosophy I: Its Roots (Frege, Moore, Russell) 2. Analytical philosophy II: Logical positivism (Vídeňský kruh, Carnap, Wittgenstein) 3. Analytical philosophy III: Philosophy of natural language and pragmaticism (Austin, Strawson, Quine) 4. Filosofie mysli I: Intenctionality and mind-body problem (i) 5. Filosofie mysli II: Mind-body problem and the problem of consciousness 6. Filosofie mysli III: Perception (i) 7. Filosofie mysli IV: Perception (ii) 8. Analytical ethics I: Introduction and the outline of basic approaches 9. Analytical ethics II: Representative figures and their significance (Moore, Hare, Anscombe) 10. Analytical theism I: Introduction, the characteristics and the survey of the topics 11. Analytical theism II: Selected figures and their contribution (Bocheński, Plantinga, Swinburne) Detailed hand-outs with basic literature on the topic will be provided every hour.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of the subject is to acquaint student with the basic topics and arguments of the analytical philosophy of the twentieth century. The topics from philosophy of language, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, analytical ethics and analytical theology should be gradually discussed.
The student will gain a basic orientation regarding the main problems, arguments and approaches in the dominat stream of contemporary philosophy, sc. in the analytical philosophy of the 20th century.
