Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

The student is obliged to elaborate a commented translation of a professional foreign-language study related to the history of religion. The output is a translation of the article with the translator's commentary. In short, it is necessary to outline the line of argument of the article, to point out possible discrepancies and to point out a different view of another expert in the relevant scientific field. In the end, the translator expresses his / her already familiar view (agreement / disagreement), which briefly supports the arguments. The student is also obliged to write a seminar paper. They choose three theoretical directions in the field of religion based on the relevant chapters of compulsory literature, recommended literature and other appropriate information sources. They will briefly introduce these directions in their work and compare them above all. In the text of the seminar work, the author observes and compares the first bases of theories and relations to other streams within the study of religions, 2. their basic professional themes and 3. the methods they deal with. In the end he / she expresses his / her already familiar view of the issue, which will briefly support the arguments. The student confirms the concrete selection of the article by signing it on a sheet posted on the notice board of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies of TF JU next to the office 4.28. Commented translation and seminar paper will be sent electronically no later than the last week of teaching to the email address of the teacher klapetek@tf.jcu.cz
