Course content
Selected topics: - An anthropologist in a foreign culture - The question of a human nature - The question of a progress and cultural evolution - Origin of man and the question of human diversity - "Archaic" and "civilized" thinking - Man, culture, and gender - Man, culture, and sex - The origin of values and ethics - Man, culture, and death - Man, culture, and the sacred

Work with text (with textbook, with book), Written action (comprehensive tests, clauses)
Learning outcomes
Seminars are based on the reading of voluntary selected anthropological books concerning special topics and their presentation in the form of written essays.
Students learn to work up selected expert books, to compare two or more books concerning the same or similar topic, to present the books in the form of oral report, and to spark off and moderate the debate.
Prerequisites
This seminar number 2. IS NOT conditioned by the seminar number 1. Both seminars may be passed in the reverse succession.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar work

- choose a topic from the list and read at least two books - written essay summarizing chosen books - written apendix comparating resources, contents and conclusions of these books
