Course content
1) Marx and Marxism. 2) Backgroun - Hegel, Smith. 3) Dialectical materialism. 4) Historical materialism. 5) Scientific materialism. 6) Economical seeing of world, a problem of alienation. 7) A view on history and society. 8) A reformatory Czech Marxism of 60th - Machovec, Gardavsky etc., Marxistic dissent - Kusý, Bondy. 9) Emancipatory western Marxism, critisism of capitalism - Framm, Marcuse etc. 10) A dialogue of Cristians and Marxists. Critical views on Marxism.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to apprise students of a philosophy which was the leading ideology in our country in the past, and to introduce them to a critical confrontation with Marxism as a current ideology.
A student will gain an aptitude to judge critical the texts of Marxist ideologies.

Colloquium, Seminar work

An active participation on the lessons, disposing and bringing forward of a paper about some work or personality.
