Course content
- Specific educational environment of cultural and memory institutions - Legislative definition and the role of the educator in culture - Education and interpretation of cultural and historical heritage - Preparation of educational programmes providing access to cultural and historical heritage - Adaptation and variation of programmes according to the type of visitor group - Programmes for visitors with special educational needs - Methods and approaches in the field of cultural education (e.g. animation, participation)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Activating (simulations, games, drama), Excursion, Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies), Individual tutoring, Project-based learning, Group work
Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the specific educational environment of cultural and memory institutions (museums, galleries, monuments, etc.). Special attention is paid to the legislative definition and the role of the educator in culture and state cultural policy. The aim is not only to understand professional concepts and current trends in the field of education in culture, but also to gain experience in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of an educational project.
The student will gain insight into the specific educational environment of memory and cultural institutions and understand basic concepts. The student will become familiar with the definition of the profession of cultural educator and current trends in the field of education and interpretation of cultural and historical heritage. Gain experience in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of their own educational project.
Prerequisites
Basic orientation in the field of access to cultural heritage.
