Course content
The course aims to thematize and discuss the relationship between religion and education with regard to the reality of the relationship between education and religion in the Czech environment. We will consider, among others, the following questions: How is religion present in the school environment? What is meant by religion? What is the concept of education and religion? What is meant by spiritual competence and how to develop it? The question after truth, good and evil, beauty, the finality of life, guilt and forgiveness other similar topics and their place in education? Consciousness of death as an important part of education for life?

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies)
Learning outcomes
The main objectives of the course are: - reflection on one's own experience of the relationship between education and religion - helping students to discover in the everyday lives of young people manifestations and activities that allow and sometimes require a spiritual interpretation or answer to religious questions - offering basic arguments for the legitimacy of reflecting on religious themes in education - discussing the concept of spiritual competence in education - other topics according to students' interest Organization: The course will be conducted for PS in the form of a seminar for KS in the form of lectures with discussion.
An insight into the connections between human life and religious thought with an appreciation of its potential.
