Course content
A. Free time in the context of postmodern society (philosophical reflection): 1) Sociocultural situation of contemporary society (theories of postmodernity and its consequences) 2) Post-materialist well-being and its burdens (loss of meaning, experiencing of solitude) 3) Free time as a social problem 4) Time - chronos and kairos; free time - scholé 5) Free time as a residual category, semi-free time, time for other work B. Free time in the light of the Judeo-Christian tradition (theological reflection): 6) Free time as a holiday 7) Recreatio as new creation 8) Reaction of the Catholic Church to the change in lifestyle 9) Pastoral activity in connection with health care C. Free time from the point of view of Christian ethics 10) Truth and truthfulness - as the basis of trust and relationships 11) Ethics of work and free time (Family - work - free time) 12) Media and free time 13) Life and leisure situations of men, women, children, the older generation 14) Ethics of relationships and transformation of family

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the context of experiencing free time in contemporary modern western society including its specific characteristics perceived from the point of view of ethical principles embedded in Judeo-Christian tradition.

Prerequisites
Prerequisite for understanding the content of the course is the completion of the course Pedagogy of leisure, as well as knowledge of basic concepts of philosophical and theological ethics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Within the exam, the students will present one of the examination stated topics they will choose. Another topic for the exam and presentation will be assigned to the student by the teacher. The student can be partly examined from other topics intended for examination.
