Learning outcomes
The course aims to introduce students to the basic theological discipline, which critically examines and considers the reasons and ways why and how theology exists, i.e. its methodology and overall events in theology. Fundamental theology is presented as a discipline that rationally reflects, describes, systematises and determines the proper and enduring claim of Christianity (content of theology) and, on the other hand, justifies this claim against the background of how it was mediated in various historical periods and how it is defensible in context of today's conception of the world (methodological side of theology). The very foundation of Christianity lies, therefore, at the heart of the fundamental-theological reflection: faith in one God, revealed in Jesus Christ, and the history of the tradition of this revealed content in the history of the Church, or in that enduring claim of Christianity. In this course, the students will learn about basic theological topics and create the appropriate context for their understanding.
- understanding of the terminology and system - knowledge of all the main content units of the treatise - understanding of key and controversial fundamental-thological topics - skill of critical reading - ability to recognise performative overlap of the knowledge, their formative character - ability to apply the acquired knowledge to practical attitudes
