Course content
|
The course is devoted to reading and analyzing particular chosen texts written by the early Christian authors of the first centuries of the Christian era. The course work focuses on the historical, philosophical and theological relations of both Eastern and Western Christian traditions.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to introduce students into the problematic of old christian literature.
Students gain general knowledge of the problems of early Christian literature. The course enables them to work with theological texts of Early Christian authors and to interpret the ideas of these authors with respect to the history of theology and spirituality.

Prerequisites
|
Basic knowledge of philosophy and theology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance assessment, Colloquium
Regular and active participation of students in seminar sessions and a short discussion of a chosen text of an Early Christian author.
