Course content
|
Within the subject are discussed the following themes: - The Roman Empire and its religions - The beginnings of Christianity and its expansion within the ancient world of that time - Moving Nations and its impact on the development of European culture - Early medieval Europe and its spiritual horizons - The development of the papacy and secular power (Holy Roman Empire, France, England, Czech lands) since 10th till 13th century - Europe in the 14th century - Europe in the 15th century

Learning outcomes

The aim of this course is to introduce students into the basic problematic of the european and world history in context of the spiritual and religious movements since the beginning of Christianity till the and of the Middle Age.
Student is able to explain and to interpret the problematic of this course.

Prerequisites
|
The only prerequisite is an interest in the study of history.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination
Student will demostrate his knowlenge at the end of semester, above all the knowledge of basic terms, basic orientation on historical contents.
