Course content
During the semestr, the student read a selected Latin, mostly philosphical text. The student is required to read and transleatethe text at home before the lesson. Then, the problems and translation variantions are discussed.

Learning outcomes
This course is the completion of the three previous Latin courses. The course is aimed at reading original Latin texts with dictionaries.
The student will be able to read and understand Latin texts with dictionary.
Prerequisites
The student must have succesfully passed the course LAFI3 or similar.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment

1) The student is required to prepare the translation of the Latin texts at home, before the lesson. 2) The student is required to be present at the lesson and to work with other students on a more detailed understanding of the text; i.e. the attendence at the lessons is compulsory. 3) The student is required to confirm his/her ability to translate and analyse a text of the same kind, e.i. a selected passage from the Summa Theologiae by Thomas Aquinas (final written and oral exam).
