Course content
a) origin and foundation of the Church, Biblical foundations b) ecclesiology in the course of the history - antiquity, Middle Ages, reformation, modern times, 2nd Vatican council c) The Church as a mystery - titles of the Church: mystical body of Christ, People of God, koinonia, mother, vine trunk, the arch of the covenant etc. d) The Church as servant - services and offices in the Church e) Systematic reflection - presence, relationship to other churches (ecumenism), interreligious dialogue and relationship towards the world B) a) Biblical foundations of Mariology b) dogmatic-historical development: antiquity, Middle Ages, reformation, modern times, c) Marian dogmas and teaching of the Church d) Systematic reflection

Learning outcomes
Introduce student to the basic problematic of the Church phenomena and acquaint him or her with basics of Mariology.
Student will know the basic concept of the Catholic Church, its historical development and its place in the contemporary world. At the same time he or she will have some basic knowledge from the discipline of Mariology.
