Course content
Questions of legal philosophy: antiquity, the Middle Ages, modern philosophy, jurisprudence of the 20th century. Fields of valid law, private and public law, basic human rights. Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, rule of law - concept, attributes. Substantive criminal law, social danger of a crime, principles of criminal law, factual nature of a crime, circumstances precluding illegality of a crime. Criminal procedural law, basic principles of criminal proceedings, subjects of criminal proceedings, stages of criminal proceedings, penalties and educational measures. Administrative law, public administration in the Czech Republic, forms of implementation of public administration, characteristics of public administration organization, state administration and self-government. Substantive civil law, principles of civil law, protection of personality, subjectivity, legal capacity, property law, rights in rem in a foreign matter, law of obligations. Civil procedural law, principles of civil court proceedings, motions to initiate proceedings, court decisions, enforcement proceedings. Labor law, collective and individual labor law, creation, changes and termination of employment, liability for damage, employee care. Commercial and trade law, basic concepts, subjects, business companies, competition, business obligations, general principles of trade business. Family law, purpose of legal regulation, basic institutes of family law, marriage, relations between parents and children, surrogate parental care. Institutions of legal protection, ombudsman, legal aid for a fee, notaries, public prosecutor's office. Ecclesiastical law, the Catholic Church, Orthodox and Reformed churches and their legal systems.
