Course content
The arrival of the Slavs and their characteristic; Samo?s Empire in the luster of so called Fredegar; the beginning of Christianity in these lands to the arrival of Constantine and Methodius; the Great Moravian Empire and its question marks; the beginning of the family of Přemysl Oráč; Bořivoj and Ludmila; Václav a Boleslav; efforts to establish an episcopate in Prague; the family of Přemysl Oráč and its power ambitions (Boleslav the III., Jaromír, Oldřich); for the king crown; successful Přemysl Otakar the I. and his clerical policy; seizing ambitions of Přemysl Otakar the II.; Václav the II. and his attempt to establish a university; Václav the III. And the issues of his murder in Olomouc; the rule of Rudolf Habsburský and Jindřich Korutanský; a warrior and a diplomat, Jan Lucemburský; Karel the IV. and the The predecessor of M. Learning outcomes
The aim is to provide a basic orientation within Czech church history and to deepen the interests in history and its connection to the history of the Church.
Students are acquaint with basic knowledge of Czech clerical history and are able to interpret it in the context of general history.
Prerequisites
Absolving of the Obecné dějiny základní.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

The knowledge of basic terms; the orientation in historical links and connections.
