Course content
Ecopolitics, introduction to environmental law ("environmental law"), principles of environmental law, tools and processes in environmental law. 2. Public administration in the environment, international and European environmental law. 2. Public administration in the environment, international and European environmental law. 3. Subjects of environmental relations, public participation in environmental law, right to environmental information. 4. Spatial planning, SEA, EIA, 5. Liability in environmental protection, environmental damage. 6. Protection of natural resources (land, water, forest, mineral resources). 7. Legal regulation of pollution (protection of water and air from pollution, waste and packaging, integrated prevention). 8. Environmental protection in hunting and fishing. Protection of animals against cruelty. 9. General protection of nature and landscape. 10. Special protection of nature and landscape (specially protected areas, specially protected species, specially protected minerals, monumental trees). 11. NATURA 2000 system. The remaining institutes of the Nature and Landscape Protection Act. 12. Summary

Learning outcomes
The content of the course is the basic concepts and principles of environmental law and its constitutional foundations, including the international context. Furthermore, attention is paid to the organization of public administration in the area, the tools of legal protection and liability. The course also includes a basic excursion into the legal regulation of pollution and the legal protection of individual components of the environment with special emphasis on nature and landscape protection.
Students can apply an active working approach and are capable of independent scientific activity in the field. They are able to use a large amount of relevant data (professional literature, their own practical experience in the field, experience of experts), which they are able to analyse, critically evaluate and draw appropriate conclusions. Graduates can apply these skills creatively in their research activities. Students are well prepared for further independent learning and sustained professional growth in the field. Graduates have mastered the ability to think analytically and synthetically.
Prerequisites
Students are able to work independently in the field, but they have also mastered the principles of teamwork. They are equipped with the ability to formulate and present their own opinions and communicate them in their native language and in a world language. They are able to communicate information, ideas, identify problems and propose possible solutions without problems. They are able to critically evaluate their approach to a problem; they are able to defend their professional opinion using arguments they have acquired through study and practical experience in the field.

The scope of knowledge corresponds to the SZZ at ZF JU. Students of the combined form of study have the same obligations as students of the full-time form.
