Course content
Acquisition and deepening of theoretical and practical knowledge about weeds. Causes of weeds, harmfulness and usefulness of weeds and their ecological significance. With a focus on preventive, mechanical and biological methods of weed control on arable land. Classification and categorization of weed harmfulness. Generative and vegetative ways of spreading, dormancy of weed seeds. Influence of weeds and crops - competition, competition, plant allopathy. Changes in the species spectrum of weeds, the influence of sowing sequences, tillage, etc. on changes in weed communities. Biology and regulation of main weed species. Tendency to spread weeds on arable land. Classification and categorization of weed harmfulness. Generative and vegetative ways of spreading, dormancy of weed seeds. Influence of weeds and crops - competition, competition, plant allopathy. Changes in the species spectrum of weeds, the influence of sowing sequences, tillage, etc. on changes in weed communities. The aim of the course is to gain theoretical and practical knowledge about weeds.
Graduates of the course will deepen their knowledge in the field of theoretical and practical knowledge about weeds.
