Course content
|
Agricultural ecosystems and biodiversity protection (agroecosystems and agroecology, agroecosystems and natural ecosystems). Agroecosystems and biodiversity (ecosystem services, functional biodiversity, biodiversity assessment, leading players of biodiversity in agroecosystems). Agriculture and its impact on biodiversity in terms of its protection. The main effects of agriculture on biodiversity. Agricultural disturbances and their effects on biodiversity (pests in agriculture and ecological perspective). Pest control and management, integrated pest management, pesticides and their impact on biodiversity. Biological control and protection of species in agroecosystems (classical biological control, documentation and risk assessment). Agriculture and the surrounding landscape (field edges, field crops as a habitat for natural enemies). Agriculture in protected areas (sustainable development, agrotourism, current trends in agrotourism, tourism and cultural change).

Learning outcomes
|
The seminar introduces the basic principles of writing final qualification theses to students. Students will work independently on the assigned work, while they will actively discuss the correctness of the chosen procedures in writing this work with the teacher.
Graduates will deepen their knowledge of nature conservation, environmental management practices, and biodiversity support.

Prerequisites
|
Basic knowledge of issues related to biological conservation (scientific disciplines on which the biology of nature protection is based - biology, ecology, agriculture, forestry, etc.).

Systematic student observation, Combined exam, Test
