Course content
Students will expand their knowledge of sustainable agricultural practice and are familiar with innovative environmental measures leading to sustainability at the farm level. The study subject includes the following topics: - Environmental impacts of agricultural systems - Innovative approaches to the design of sustainable management - Methods of assessing the impact of agricultural activities on the environment - Linking nature conservation and agricultural practice The content of the course will be specified by the teacher at the beginning of the semester so as to respect the topic of the dissertation and the professional direction of the student. Teaching consists mainly in self-study of recommended literature and individual consultations of the student with the teacher. The study includes excursions to agricultural enterprises and protected areas. The assignment is chosen by the teacher so that the student can use it as one of the materials for the dissertation.

  • Preparation for classes - 110 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 60 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 80 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the issue of sustainable agricultural systems, their impacts, development opportunities and innovative practices in their design.
Knowledge in the field of sustainable agriculture, the student is able to independently orient in the given issue and is able to use the acquired knowledge in his/her scientific activities or other practice.
Prerequisites
Completion of a university master's or engineering study of science resp. agricultural focus.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Test, Seminar work

Written test (75% points-successful completion), analysis of incorrect or incomplete answers, elaboration of seminar work, which serves as a basis for the oral exam of the subject, oral exam.
