Course content
|
The aim of the course is to provide a basic overview of parts and products of plants and animals protected by CITES, which can be subject to import and export (eg medicinal products from plants, souvenirs, preparations, furs, trophies, etc.). Determination of plant parts based on anatomical and morphological features. Plant species transported as intact specimens, in the vegetative state, in the form of bulbs and tubers. Derivatives: powders, tablets, extracts, tonics, teas and confectionery. Determination of CITES plants by: green vegetative organs, flowers and their parts, fruits and seeds, bulbs and tubers. Wood from CITES plant species: raw, lumber, veneers and plywood. Determination of toppings and teas, or powder derivatives using anatomical features. Determination of souvenirs, trophies and special-purpose objects made from animals with a focus on species covered by CITES, its theoretical and practical aspects, practical determination of skulls, bones, teeth, antlers and horns, skins, preparations, feathers and other most frequently imported objects in order to gain knowledge of sources of information for the determination of imported animal materials and products of animal origin.

Knowledge of CITES animals and plants and relevant legislation.

Oral examination, Combined exam
