Course content
Taxonomy, distribution, biology, threat and protection of animals classified in CITES categories - Annexes I, II and III, A, B, C, D. List of representatives of individual taxonomic groups of animals in Appendices I, II, III CITES: Tribe Cnidaria - classes Anthozoa, Hydrozoa. Tribe Mollusca - Bivalvia, Gastropoda. Tribe Annelida, class Hirudinoidea. Tribe Arthropoda, classes Arachnida, Insecta. Subtribe Chordata, classes Elasmobranchii, Actinopterygii, Sarcopterygii, Amphibia, Reptilia, Aves, Mammalia. Distribution of these species, basic data on their biology, type of threat, protection issues. Specification for inclusion in individual annexes of CITES.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to inform students about the taxonomy, distribution, biology, threat and protection of animals on the CITES list, i.e., categories - Appendices I, II and III// A, B, C, D. List of representatives of individual taxonomic groups of animals in Appendices I, II and III CITES. Phylum Cnidaria - classes Anthozoa and Hydrozoa. Phylum Mollusca - classes Bivalvia, Gastropoda and Cephalopoda. Phylum Annelida - group Hirudinoidea. Phylum Arthropoda, classes Arachnida and Insecta. Phylum Chordata, classes Elasmobranchii, Actinopterygii, Sarcopterygii, Amphibia, Reptilia, Aves, Mammalia. Distribution of these species, essential data on their biology, type of threat, and protection issues. Specification for inclusion in individual appendices of CITES and traded forms.
The ability of a solid orientation in the taxonomy, distribution, biology, threat and protection of animals classified in CITES categories. List of representatives of individual taxonomic groups of animals in Appendices I, II, III CITES: Tribe Cnidaria - classes Anthozoa, Hydrozoa. Tribe Mollusca - Bivalvia, Gastropoda. Prerequisites
Active participation in consultations, basic knowledge of zoology and zoogeography.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Knowledge of taxonomy, occurrence, threats and basic biology of animals classified into individual CITES categories, according to the declared content of the course.
