Course content
1. Forms and methods, chemical educational excursion, projected teaching 2. Problem's methods in teaching chemistry, tasks and exercises 3. Teaching aids and computer-teaching in the chemical education, chemical experiment 4. Cross-links and integration trends in the scientific subjects 5. Classification of growth in the chemical education

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Written action (comprehensive tests, clauses), Demonstration, Projection, Individual preparation for exam, Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies), Individual tutoring
  • Preparation for classes - 52 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide fundamental knowledge of didactic of chemistry. Emphasis is placed on connecting common pedagogic theories with the practical teaching of chemistry courses.
Graduates are able to make sense of basic methods of effective chemistry education, as well as their critical evaluation.
Prerequisites
Introductory courses in pedagogy and psychology. Expert chemical knowledge at the level of the state exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment, Didactic test, Seminar work

Commanding of the basics of selected parts of didactic of chemistry with respect to the necessary understanding of general didactic. All materials related to the lessons of science didactics (e.g. seminar theses and essays, projects, literature reviews etc.) are summed at the preservice teacher's portfolio which reflects professional skills and experience.
