Course content
1. Didactics of chemistry, its object and subdivision 2. Goal of the chemical education 3. Degree of insight of the chemical subject matter, Bloom's taxonomy 4. Cognitive process in the chemical education, Algorithms, analogy and misconception 5. Structure of the chemical education, The selection of the subject matter and the curriculum 6. Textbook of chemistry 7. Educative importance of relationships between composition, structure, attribute and behaviour of chemical substances 8. Forms and methods, Chemical educational excursion, Projected teaching 9. Problem's methods in teaching chemistry, Tasks and exercises 10. Teaching aids and computer-teaching in the chemical education, Chemical experiment 11. Cross-links and integration trends in the scientific subjects 12. Elements of motivation in the chemical education 13. Classification of growth in the chemical education

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Demonstration, Projection

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide fundamental knowledge of general didactic of chemistry. Emphasis is placed on connecting common pedagogic theories with the practical teaching of chemistry courses.
Graduates are able to make sense of basic methods of effective chemistry education, as well as their critical evaluation.
Prerequisites
Introductory courses in psychology and pedagogics completed in Bachelor´s degree. Secondary school chemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment

Commanding of the basics of selected parts of general didactic of chemistry with respect to the necessary understanding of general didactic. All materials related to the lessons of science didactics (e.g. seminar theses and essays, projects, literature reviews etc.) are summed at the preservice teacher's portfolio which reflects professional skills and experience.
